In 2015, efforts by staff responsible for the environmentally friendly production of vehicles and components helped us to reach one of the milestones we were pursuing – a 35% reduction in environmental pressure compared to 2010. We are confident that the activities we are now developing will prove instrumental in arriving at another milestone – a 45% improvement – by 2018. The core parameters tracked in this respect are energy and water consumption, emissions of CO2 and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and the scaling-down of waste generation.
The Green Future Strategy’s first pillar is the emphasis on reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions using state-of-the-art technology, including the start-stop system and brake energy regeneration. In addition, ŠKODA offers special GreenLine models boasting a lighter weight and enhanced aerodynamics, as well as CNG-fuelled vehicles. The common denominator for all vehicles is that they provide passengers with a full range of creature comforts while keeping a lid on operating costs.
The Green Future Strategy’s second pillar is the newlook dealer network – Green Retail. Environmentally friendly materials have been picked out for the conversion of dealerships, which are also run on a principle of low energy intensity. This has resulted in an aesthetic backdrop to enhance the customer experience without impairing the environment.
